Neighbour assaulted in violent Conder home invasion

ACT Policing is calling for witnesses and any available dash cam or CCTV footage related to a violent home invasion on Templestowe Avenue in Conder last night.

At approximately 10:50pm, officers responded to a report of three armed individuals breaking into a home where a man and child were present.

The assailants allegedly threatened the occupants and stole keys to a blue Holden Commodore with ACT registration YLO69S.

A neighbour who came to assist the victims was struck with a baseball bat during the incident. The offenders fled the scene in the stolen Commodore and a white Holden Barina with ACT registration YKP37E.

Both vehicles were later observed driving erratically, and the Commodore was recovered in Coombs later that evening.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the home invasion or saw either vehicle driving dangerously in Canberra’s south last night to come forward.
