New direct flights link Canberra and Coffs Harbour

Canberra Airport welcomes the first direct service operated by Link Airways between Canberra and Coffs Harbour, with the inaugural flight FC 255 departing CBR at 4.15 pm on Thursday 22 September.

Passengers aboard the inaugural flight from Canberra to Coffs Harbour will be treated to boutique locally produced chocolates to commemorate the occasion.

The first of two scheduled return services per week operating on Thursday and Sunday, the route utilises the airline’s 34-passenger Saab 340B Plus aircraft. Last month, it was confirmed the service would be extended until January 2023.

With a flight duration of just over 90 minutes, this will be the first opportunity for locals to fly directly between the two destinations.

The Saab 340B Plus aircraft has full inflight cabin service. The standard inflight service includes hot and cold beverages and snacks, with complimentary beer/wine available during all afternoon and evening services.

Canberra Airport’s head of aviation, Michael Thomson, is pleased to welcome the expansion of the partnership with Link Airways and adding another domestic service to the airport’s network.

“We’re excited to connect travellers with Coffs Harbour – this underrated and spectacular part of the Mid North Coast of NSW, with pristine beaches, mountain escarpments, rainforests – a nature lover’s paradise. The flights are perfectly timed to allow for luxurious long weekends.”

Link Airways manager of network strategy, Jeff Boyd, believes the new route will provide a convenient and cost-effective option for passengers wanting to travel to the Coffs Coast and, inversely, to visit the Capital.

“We’re particularly pleased to announce the establishment of this connection to the much-loved destination of Coffs Harbour. We see strong demand for direct flights between Canberra and the Coffs Coast, and the proposed service will facilitate leisure and business links between the two regions,” Mr Boyd said.

Coffs Harbour Airport general manager, Frank Mondello, was thrilled to welcome direct flights between Canberra and Coffs Harbour.

“Allowing Canberrans to explore the natural beauty and warmer weather of our wider region, this direct service allows locals to enjoy all that the ACT has to offer; world-class events, produce and experiences”.

Fares are priced from $189; one-way all-inclusive Deal fares are available now via linkairways.com or through travel agents.
