New Zambrero store opens at Majura Park

Popular Mexican food chain Zambrero will open the doors of its new Majura Park Shopping Centre store tomorrow, Wednesday 24 June.

The store will feature regular menu favourites including tacos and nachos, as well as continue the Plate 4 Plate initiative – donating one meal to someone in need with the purchase of every burrito and bowl.

The store will be the 13th franchise in Canberra and one of 200 globally, following the company’s debut in Canberra during 2005.

Zambrero franchisee Karim Messih will run the Majura Park location, which will be his second store.

“It’s great to be opening up my second store in Canberra, Zambrero’s hometown,” he said.

“I’m really excited to be a part of the Majura Park community and to start serving fresh healthy Mexican food.”

The store will open alongside food retailers such as Subway, Muffin Break and Ms Ba Co in Majura Park Shopping Centre.

Canberra Airport head of property, Richard Snow, said he was pleased to see the franchise open in the growing shopping precinct.

“We are continuing to expand our retail offering at Majura Park Shopping Centre and Zambrero is a welcome addition,” he said.

Mr Snow said the shopping centre was excited for new opportunities “as we navigate out of COVID-19”.

The store will open its doors from 10am tomorrow (Wednesday 24 June) and will open until 7pm Monday-Friday and from 10am to 6pm on weekends.
