Nine new COVID-19 cases in Queanbeyan, 13 in SNSWLHD

The Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) has recorded a jump in COVID-19 cases, with 13 fresh infections, including nine in Queanbeyan.

Of the nine new coronavirus cases in the Queanbeyan-Palerang LGA, three are in Karabar, two are in Jerrabomberra with Queanbeyan, Crestwood and Urila all with one case each. Just one of the cases in Karabar has been linked with the remaining eight all under investigation.

It is the most number of COVID-19 cases recorded in Queanbeyan since 27 October.

Pambula in the Bega Valley recorded three new cases which are all linked.

The remaining case is in Yass and is under investigation.

This brings the total number of cases in the SNSWLHD to 522 since the start of the outbreak in June.

The areas within the SNSWLHD that have cases under ‘virtual care’ are Queanbeyan-Palerang (51), Yass Valley (8), Bega Valley (7) and Upper Lachlan (1).

There are currently zero people in hospital with the virus.
