One dead, one injured in Snowy Mountains Highway crash

A man has died, and another has been injured in a single-vehicle crash on the Snowy Mountains Highway in Talbingo, approximately 55km south of Tumut.

Emergency services called to the scene around 11am today, Friday 15 November, where officers arrived to find a northbound car had veered off the roadway and flipped onto its roof.

The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene and is yet to be formally identified, though he is believed to be in his 40s.

NSW Ambulance treated the male passenger, believed to be in his 30s, for abdomen and arm injuries; he was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene has been established, and investigations into the circumstances of the crash are underway. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
