Outlet Centre, church, bars among ACT COVID exposure locations

The ACT’s positive case of COVID-19 spent “extensive time” in the community since Sunday, the Chief Health Officer has said, resulting in a large number of exposure locations.

Dr Kerryn Coleman said the man in his 20s had visited several locations around the Territory earlier in the week, including Canberra Outlet Centre, a nightclub in the city and a pub in Braddon.

Authorities were notified late last night of positive wastewater detections and this morning of the positive case, Dr Coleman said.

The current exposure locations are listed below, and Dr Coleman said this could grow as contact tracing progresses.

Anyone who has been at the following locations at the times listed must immediately quarantine, get tested for COVID-19 and remain in quarantine for 14 days or until notified by ACT Health, even the test is negative:

Everyone in the ACT should continue to review the COVID-19 website for ACT exposure locations: covid19.act.gov.au

ACT Health is currently undertaking an “extensive case interview” and progressing contact tracing.

“Now more than ever it will be critical for people to use the Check In CBR app,” said Chief Minister Andrew Barr. “This has already provided vital data… in responding to this initial situation.”
