Pedestrian hit by car on Adelaide Avenue

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital in a critical condition after being hit by a car on Adelaide Avenue this morning.

About 5.55am this morning, ACT Policing and ACT Ambulance Service responded to reports that a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Adelaide Avenue near The Lodge.

The pedestrian has been taken to Canberra Hospital with serious injuries that are thought to be life-threatening.

In relation to the incident, ACT Policing is now seeking to identify the driver of a white Toyota sedan, likely a rideshare vehicle, who dropped the man in front of The Lodge, Deakin at about 4.17am this morning. 

It is believed the driver may have crucial information that can assist police who are investigating the serious collision.

ACT Policing’s Major Collision Team are investigating the circumstances of the collision and are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, quoting reference number P2243632.
