Pialligo Estate to reopen in July under new owners

Pialligo Estate is currently being transformed and is set to reopen in July under a new collaboration between property tycoon Tony Denny and restauranteur Anthony Whitehouse.

The iconic venue will keep its name so familiar with Canberrans, but the new owners will bring plenty of experience and a whole new vision to the region’s culinary scene.

“I first fell in love with Canberra when I came to the city after being awarded the contract for the Australian War Memorial. Running the beloved Poppy’s Cafe alongside the event catering within the memorial, I built a connection with the region that led me to seek out other projects here,” said Whitehouse.

“Over the years we’ve run Olleyville at the Shaw Winery Estate, Westering at the Lake George Winery and the Gundaroo Inn It’s a vibrant city that in the last decade has built a dining scene that I’m excited to have the opportunity to be a part of with our new venture at Pialligo Estate.”

The restaurant will reopen next month, with a plans for larger events to take place over the summer. Denny, the financial backer of the venture, is excited for the new project.

“Anthony is a visionary in the hospitality scene and I can’t wait to see the iconic landmark of Pialligo Estate have a new lease of life,” said Denny.

On the Pialligo Estate website, it reads ‘Canberra’s culinary and event destination is being transformed. Opening soon under a new operator.
