ACT Policing continues to target Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs (OMCGs) in the ACT, and this week seized weapons, drugs, cash and other items.
As part of an ongoing investigation that has already seen a man charged with drug trafficking, and another man charged with drug and firearm offences, on Thursday, 30 December 2021, search warrants were executed on residences in Isabella Plains and Chisholm.
During these warrants, ACT Policing’s Taskforce Nemesis located and seized two knuckle dusters, a conducted energy weapon (Taser), $2890 cash, approximately 1 gram of a substance believed to be cocaine, drug paraphernalia, mobile phones and steroids.
At the conclusion of the warrants, a 25-year-old man, who police believe was until recently a member of the Rebels OMCG, was arrested at his Isabella Plains residence.
The man was granted bail and will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on 23 February 2022 to answer charges including possessing a drug of dependence for sale, possessing a drug of dependence, possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of crime, and three counts of possession of prohibited weapons.
This investigation into the activities of OMCGs in the ACT remains ongoing, and further arrests are expected.
