Man dies following single-vehicle collision in Deakin

An 82-year-old Fisher man has died at the scene of a low-speed, single-vehicle collision in Deakin around 6.45pm last night, Monday 7 September.

About 6.45pm yesterday, ACT Policing responded to a report of a low-speed, single-vehicle collision on Grose Street, Deakin. ACT Ambulance Service and ACT Fire & Rescue personnel also attended the collision.

The driver, an 82-year-old man from Fisher, was unconscious. He was unable to be revived, and died at the scene.

Grose Street was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out.

ACT Policing’s Major Collision Team is investigating the circumstances of the incident, and a report will be prepared for the ACT Coroner.

The family has requested their privacy be respected at this time and no further details will be provided.
