ACT Policing is calling on the public to assist with its investigation into a fatal motorcycle collision on Paddys River Road, between 12-2pm on Sunday, 17 January.
The body of 21-year-old Alex Coppinger was found near Paddys River Road on Monday 18 January, after he failed to return from a motorcycle ride the day before.
Having reviewed CCTV footage in the area, ACT Policing do not currently believe other vehicles were involved in the motorcycle accident.
The footage taken shortly before the accident occurred showed several other vehicles on the road before and after the collision, and these are the drivers ACT Policing officers wish to speak to.
The driver of a red 1950s era sports car seen in the area is of particular interest to the ongoing investigation.
Police do not suspect the driver was involved in the motorcycle crash; however, they may be able to provide some information to police.
On the day he disappeared, Mr Coppinger was riding a black Yamaha motorbike with a distinctive brown leather seat.
He wore a white full-face helmet with black motorbike leathers.
Police reported Mr Coppinger planned to ride along the Cotter Road from Duffy, to Uriarra Village then along Paddys River Road to Point Hut Road, before re-entering the south of Canberra on Jim Pike Avenue.
Anyone with dash-cam footage from the area at the time, or information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
