Police looking for suspect after teen robbed on Canberra bus

ACT Policing is seeking to identify a male involved in the alleged robbery of a teenager on a bus late last year.

At around 6pm on Friday 22 November 2024, the male, described as African in appearance with a slim build and wearing a black hat, mirrored sunglasses, and silver stud earrings, approached a teenager at the Woden Bus Interchange. After a brief conversation, both boarded the same bus.

Shortly after, the male allegedly approached the teenager, demanded their phone, and threatened violence. The teenager complied, and the man performed a factory reset on the device before allowing the victim to exit the bus.

Police are asking the community for help identifying the suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website, quoting reference 7907392. Information can be provided anonymously.
