Police nab drink driver more than five times the limit

A 27-year-old Moncrieff woman without a valid driver’s licence was caught more than five times the legal alcohol limit last night, Sunday 7 November.

About 10.30pm, ACT Policing members conducting random breath testing in Dickson stopped a Honda Jazz.

The driver was taken into custody after providing a positive roadside alcohol screening. Police checks also revealed her learner licence had been expired since May 2016.

Police conveyed the driver to City Police Station, where she recorded a breath analysis of 0.265, more than five times the 0.05 legal limit.

The woman, who is on bail including conditions not to drive, will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court this morning, Monday 8 November, charged with drink driving and unlicensed driving.
