Police release face-fit image following assault in Watson

ACT Policing has released a face-fit image and is seeking the public’s assistance to identify a man believed to be involved in an assault in Watson earlier this month.

About 2.15am on Saturday 12 March, a 20-year-old woman was assaulted by a man unknown to her while walking along Antill Street in Watson.

After the assault, the man left the area driving a white Volkswagen Caddy van (or similar).

The alleged offender is described as being 20-30 years old, about 170cm (5’10”) tall, with dark hair, dark eyes and of slim build.

Police are calling for witnesses who may be able to identify the man depicted in the face-fit, or who may have witnessed the incident.

Anyone who believes they know the identity of the man, saw the white van, or has other information that can assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote reference 7055880. Information can be provided anonymously.

An ACT Policing face-fit is a graphical representation of a face, constructed by an artist working with a witness. A mixture of technology and artistry creates the image, usually from individual facial features which are then put together to come up with a final composite image.
