Police seek hit and run driver whose car struck schoolgirl

Police are seeking the driver of a vehicle that hit a 10-year-old schoolgirl in Macgregor this morning and who did not stop to render assistance.

Between 8.30am and 8.45am today, Tuesday 30 November, a 10-year-old girl on her way to Macgregor Primary School was hit by a vehicle while she was crossing a pedestrian crossing on her bike.

The collision occurred at a crossing on Osburn Drive near the intersection with Cannan Crescent, Macgregor.

The girl suffered minor injuries and was able to proceed to her school where the ACT Ambulance Service was called to assist.

The driver of a white, older vehicle, possibly a station wagon did not stop and provide assistance. Police would like the driver to come forward to assist with the investigation.
