Power lines down in Weston Creek after hailstorm

The ACT Emergency Services Agency (ACTESA) is reporting several instances of power lines down in Weston Creek after a significant hailstorm across the southside of Canberra this evening.

Power lines are down in the suburbs of Chapman, Fisher, Rivett and Stirling, with the community advised to stay clear of downed power lines at all times, and follow the advice of emergency services on scene.

At approximately 7.30pm, the fast moving storm impacted parts of Woden, Tuggeranong Valley and Weston Creek.

As of 9.20pm, the ACTESA had received 103 requests for assistance.
