Prominent property expert launches Raine & Horne Commercial in Canberra

“We love to see Canberra grow and prosper, and we are excited to be a part of its growth,” says Mark Nicholls, one half of the brand-new Canberra branch to world class real estate group, Raine & Horne.

Alongside his wife Hayley Nicholls, the power couple have launched Raine & Horne Commercial Canberra and are excited to dive into the ACT’s thriving commercial property market. Raine & Horne Commercial Canberra is a full-service commercial real estate agency servicing the ACT and surrounding region across the industrial, office, retail, and development sites.

“No job is too big or too small,” says Mark. “We are here to help start-up businesses in finding appropriate accommodation for their business, and we’re also here for residential investors who have previously invested in homes and are now turning to commercial properties, which are less management-intensive and more set-and-forget.”

Having worked in commercial real estate for 20+ years, Mark’s networks and knowledge of the Canberra commercial market is extensive.

As a Director at global real estate and investment firm CBRE, Mark sold highly recognisable sites such as Kingston Foreshore, Canberra Brickworks and Campbell 5. Mark then made the switch to managing commercial sales and leasing for Canberra’s largest development firm, Geocon. He believes this experience working on both sides of the coin gives him the ability to navigate transactions with better efficiency and perspective.

Mark notes that due to the lack of stamp duty on commercial properties valued under $1.6 million, plus Canberra’s reputation as an investment haven with a constant flux of government tenants, the outlook for the market “couldn’t be better”.

“The caveat is that commercial stock is in short supply across most sectors, and more national brands that service government agencies are moving to the Capital. These businesses will further drive demand for commercial space.”

Whether you’re an owner or a tenant hoping to navigate the multi-faceted market, Canberrans will benefit from consulting a national brand with strong networks and market-leading technology.

“Raine & Horne Commercial’s marketing solutions are truly outstanding, and the fact our Group has a presence all over Australia is a big benefit,” says Hayley. “Also, every person we surveyed recognised Raine & Horne as a strong, highly reputable brand.”

Hayley started working in the Canberra property industry in 2005 and has since worked a variety of roles across the industry, most recently as Marketing Manager at Allhomes, giving her the multidisciplinary experience needed to handle business on the backend, ensuring clients smooth sailing.

Complementing Hayley’s expertise, Mark is your agent and primary point of contact, placing equal vigour in directing the business, and selling or leasing your property.

“Every client’s property is ultimately handled by me, meaning it never gets pawned off to someone else,” says Mark.

“I’m highly invested in my clients and helping them understand the full picture, be they seasoned investors or new business owners who need that extra help to navigate the intricacies of a commercial lease.”

So far, Canberrans have taken to the introduction of Raine & Horne Commercial Canberra with gusto.

“We’ve only been operating since 1 July and since then we’ve had a flood of interest, which we’re very grateful for and excited about” says Mark.

Executive Chairman Angus Raine commented, “Since 2007, Mark has ably assisted commercial property owners in providing strategic advice to divest their assets, marketing their property, and negotiating transactions to secure buyers and tenants.

“Mark and Hayley are committed to providing the highest quality service to every client, and this is evident in their approach to all their sales and leasing listings, no matter how big or small.”

Raine & Horne Commercial Canberra’s office is on Level 3, Suite 22, 490 Northbourne Avenue, in the lively retail and dining precinct of Dickson.
