Public consultation on ACT Government’s anti-violence strategy

The ACT Government has drafted its 10-year Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Strategy, and the public can comment until 28 April.

The strategy is a framework to guide government and community sector’s decisions about domestic, family and sexual violence over the next decade.

The Government is seeking Canberrans input and priorities in addressing these issues. Canberransโ€™ contributions will help inform and design the final strategy.

Canberrans are invited to put forward a submission on the YourSay website.

The strategy will link closely to the National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children 2022-2032, including the four focus areas of Prevention, Early Intervention, Response and Recovery, and Healing.

Yvette Berry, ACT Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence, said: โ€œAll Canberrans should be able to live free from domestic, family, and sexual violence, and feel safe in their relationships, homes and communities.

โ€œAs we develop the ACT Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Strategy, we are seeking the views of the community, victim-survivors of domestic, family and sexual violence, and organisations on the frontline, to help us set our priorities under the four focus areas of prevention, early intervention, response and recovery, and healing.โ€

โ€œWe look forward to working closely with our community sector partners as the strategy progresses.โ€
