Following a DNA sample provided in Queanbeyan earlier this month, NSW Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man who has been missing from Victoria for the last 56 years, and is believed to have travelled to NSW.

Ronald Peter Owen was last seen at his family home on Norman Street in Wendouree West, Victoria, some time in 1966.

Ronald’s family believe he may have travelled to NSW shortly after; however, he was not reported missing to police at the time of his disappearance.

On Friday 15 July 2022, a family member attended a pop-up familial DNA collection program – an initiative of the NSW Police Missing Persons Registry – in Queanbeyan, New South Wales, to provide a sample of his DNA and report Ronald’s disappearance, in the hope it would assist in locating Ronald.

Officers attached to State Crime Command’s Missing Persons Registry have commenced an investigation into his whereabouts.

At the time of his disappearance, Ronald was 18 years old and is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of solid build, about 175cm tall, with a fair complexion and brown hair.

As of today, Thursday 28 July, Ronald would be 75 years old.
