Queanbeyan records 202 COVID cases, 523 in Southern NSW

Queanbeyan has recorded 202 new COVID cases as the Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) reported 523 new total infections.

398 of the new cases are from PCR tests with 125 from rapid antigen tests.

There are 24 people in hospital with the virus with three in the ICU. 28 people are under active care.

There are now 4,023 active COVID cases in the SNSWLHD.

The total number of infections since 1 July in the region is 6,646 and there have been four deaths.

The Queanbeyan Palerang LGA recorded 202 new COVID-19 cases.

Goulburn Mulwaree LGA recorded 70 new cases.

Eurobodalla LGA has 38 new cases.

Bega Valley LGA has 38 new infections.

Snowy Monaro LGA has 28 new COVID infections.

Yass Valley LGA reported 16 COVID-19 cases.

Upper Lachlan reported 6 new cases.

Meanwhile, NSW recorded 48,768 new infections and 17 deaths.

Of the deaths, one person was aged in their 60s, four people were aged in their 70s, nine people were aged in their 80s, and three people were in their 90s.

Of the 17 people who died; 14 people were vaccinated against COVID-19, one person had received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and two people were not vaccinated.
