Josh Hodgson and Ryan James are amongst the 32 players selected in the Canberra Raiders squad for their trial match against the Sydney Roosters at Seiffert Oval on Saturday, 27 February, 4pm.
Both men are returning from ACL injuries and this will be their only hit out before round one on 14 March against the Wests Tigers.
A number of players have also been selected to play in the NSW Cup trial match which will take place at 2pm against the North Sydney Bears.
While the Raiders have named a strong team for the trial, one notable omission from either squad is Corey Harawira-Naera.
Harawira-Naera was expected to take the place of John Bateman in the second row for the 2021 season.
However, Ricky Stuart said earlier this month that he will not be considered for round one after a drink driving incident over the Christmas period.
Harawira-Naera is due to face court for the charge on 25 March.
Corey Horsburgh was another caught drink driving over the Christmas period but has been selected in both trial squads.
Horsburgh faced court today for his drink driving charge and was given a criminal conviction, disqualified from driving for three months and slapped with a $500 fine for the incident.
