Raiders name team to tackle Storm in Melbourne

The Canberra Raiders have named their squad to take on the Storm in Melbourne on Sunday afternoon.

Canberra prop Josh Papalii will back up from Queensland Origin Game Three duties on Wednesday night, while Jack Wighton will play after being 18th man for NSW.

The departing Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad has been left out of the squad entirely with James Schiller coming onto the bench.

The Raiders are coming off a bye last week, but are coming off controversial 12-10 loss to the Dragons in their last game.

Meanwhile, the Storm are coming off back-to-back losses for the second time this season and will be looking to regain form at home.

Brandon Smith has been left out as he is likely to be suspended at the NRL tribunal tonight after calling referee Adam Gee a ‘cheating bastard’ during last week’s 28-6 loss to the Sharks. Harry Grant replaces him at hooker and will back up from Origin.

Star five-eighth Cameron Munster has been named to play after being ruled out of the Origin decider on Wednesday night due to COVID, with Nick Meaney shifting back to the wing.

Felise Kaufusi returns in the back row after spending time with his ill father in the US.

Melbourne were too good for the Raiders when they met back in round 5 this year, claiming a 30-16 victory in Wagga Wagga.
