Raiders name Wighton and Papalii for Sharks match

State of Origin stars Jack Wighton and Josh Papalii have been named to return for the Canberra Raiders crunch match against the Cronulla Sharks on Saturday afternoon at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast.

They both missed the Raiders 30-16 upset victory over Manly last week on Origin duty but will provide Canberra a boost as they look to beat another finals contender. Wighton has been named to start at five-eighth for NSW while Papalii will start in the front row for Queensland.

Matt Frawley is the unlucky one to make way for Wighton after a fantastic performance against Manly. Papalii replaces Dunamis Lui who will miss 2-3 weeks with a calf injury.

Co-captain Elliott Whitehead is expected to miss just one more week with a shoulder injury with Hudson Young keeping his spot on the edge.

Xavier Savage gets another crack at fullback after a solid NRL debut last week.

The Sharks have named an unchanged line up from the one that knocked over the Warriors last round.

Both teams are in the mix for a finals berth with the Sharks currently in eighth spot and the Raiders just two points behind them in eleventh.
