Raiders set to open season at home against the Sharks

The Canberra Raiders will reportedly open their 2022 NRL campaign at home against a new-look Cronulla Sharks outfit on Saturday 12 March.

The match is set to be played in front of the first Canberra home crowd since 3 July this year before the Raiders were forced to relocate to Queensland to complete the season.

Canberra will be looking to unveil new halfback Jamal Fogarty in the season opener with recruit Adam Elliott also a chance to make his Raiders debut.

Meanwhile, the Sharks will look a whole lot different under new coach Craig Fitzgibbon, with stars Dale Finucane, Nicho Hynes and Cam McInnes all set to line up at GIO Stadium.

The Raiders have a terrific recent record over the Sharks, winning the last six encounters between the sides, including two wins this year. However, three of those six wins were decided by less than two points.
