The GWS Giants have kept themselves in finals contention with a resounding 38-point victory over the Fremantle Dockers at Optus Stadium.
Second-gamer Jake Riccardi and Jeremy Cameron both kicked four goals in the 14.7 (91) to 8.5 (53) victory, the Giants first win since round 10.
After a slow start the last two weeks, the Giants came out on fire with Cameron kicking two early goals to give his side a 19 point lead at quarter time.
The Giants kicked the first two goals of the second quarter to extend their lead to 31-points, but the Dockers steadied to reduce the margin to 25 points at half time.
Josh Kelly was helped off the ground at half time after copping some friendly fire from Shane Mumford and was ruled out of the match with concussion. Kelly had been one of the Giants best in the first half with 11 disposals.
David Mundy kicked the first two goals of the second half as the Dockers got back to within 14 points and looked to have all the momentum until Riccardi stepped up.
Riccardi took a brilliant contested mark in the forward pocket and kicked the goal to wrestle the momentum back and the Giants kicked away from there.
The Giants kicked four of the next five goals, including another two to Riccardi, as the margin blew out to 40 points at the end of the third quarter.
The last quarter finished three goals a piece as the Giants cruised their way to a 38 point win that puts them right back into the mix to play finals.
The 91 points scored was the Giants biggest score since all the way back in round 1 before the competition was suspended and Riccardi was a big reason why.
Riccardi was sensational on debut in the Giants loss to the Eagles last week and backed it up with an even better performance in his second game.
The Giants have struggled for a marking target up forward all season and Riccardi has provided that, recording 19 marks in his first two games, including 8 marks inside 50.
Lachie Whitfield was the pick of the Giants midfielders with 31 disposals and a game high 537 metres gained while Tim Taranto was also superb with 25 disposals and a goal.
The Giants next match is against the Carlton Blues at Metricon Stadium on Thursday 3 September and it shapes as a crucial match as both teams look to sneak into the top 8 with only four rounds to go.
