RSL launches free Veterans’ Employment Program in the ACT

Veterans living in the ACT now have access to a valuable free service, the RSL Veterans’ Employment Program.

Run locally by the ACT branch of the RSL, the program provides specialist career services to our local veterans and their immediate families.

The program helps veterans, their partners, and their immediate family members to find work, change careers or discover their passion and purpose.

It provides specialist career coaching and connects veterans with local, ACT-based employers who value their unique skills and experience.

The RSL Veterans’ Employment Program is free to access for:

• Veterans
• Veterans’ partners and immediate family members
• Reservists
• Allied veterans

Length of service is no barrier – whether the participant served for a day or a decade, the program is available to access free of charge.

It doesn’t matter how old the participant is or where they’re at in their career journey.

It’s never too late to make a change, nor too soon to follow a dream.

The RSL Veterans’ Employment Program provides the following services:

• Career transition (assisting with translating military skills and experience for a future civilian career)
• Career navigation (navigating career options and pathways)
• Career coaching (helping decide which direction to take)
• Assistance to create or update one’s CV
• Assistance with writing cover letters
• Preparation for interviews
• Advice regarding pathway programs to upskill
• Connections to potential employers.

People who have proudly served their country make dedicated, highly skilled employees who are strong team members and contribute a unique perspective to their organisation.

The RSL Veterans’ Employment Program connects veterans with local employers who value their skills and experience.

The program has received grant funding from the Australian Government and is free to access.

Membership to the RSL is not a requirement to access the program.
