Scullin woman charged after burning stolen vehicle

A 40-year-old Scullin woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court today, 23 September, on charges including perverting the course of justice.  

After an extensive investigation, on Thursday, 21 September, ACT Policing officers arrested a 35-year-old man in relation to a series of incidents across Canberra over the past month and is facing 32 charges.  

As part of this investigation, police identified a stolen white Subaru XV being used in the alleged offending. This vehicle was later found burnt out on Boobialla Street, O’Connor.  

A review of CCTV footage from the area allegedly shows the woman setting fire to the vehicle about 9.50pm on Thursday, 21 September.  

About 6.15pm, Friday 22 September, police executed a search warrant at a residence on Jundivik Place, Scullin where the woman was arrested.  

She has been charged with perverting the course of justice, arson, and ride in stolen motor vehicle without consent.
