Southern NSW records 123 COVID cases, Queanbeyan 55

Queanbeyan has recorded 55 COVID cases overnight as the Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) reported 123 infections.

It comes after yesterday’s record of 203 cases in the district.

Despite the recent rise in cases, the number of people in hospital has remained at just two, while 214 people are under active care.

There are now 797 active COVID cases in the SNSWLHD with the total number of infections up to 1,439 since the start of the outbreak in June.

The SNSWLHD announced that daily updates will no longer include breakdown by town or suburb.

The Queanbeyan Palerang LGA recorded 55 new COVID-19 cases.

Goulburn Mulwaree LGA recorded 18 new cases.

Bega Valley recorded 17 new infections.

Snowy Monaro LGA has 16 new COVID infections.

Yass Valley LGA recorded 8 COVID-19 cases.

Upper Lachlan reported six new cases.

Eurobodalla LGA has three new cases.

The news comes as NSW recorded 18,278 COVID-19 total cases and the ACT reported 506 new infections.
