Stolen property has been recovered and a 20-year-old Evatt woman has been charged following search warrant activity yesterday 9 February.
On Tuesday, 7 February 2023, ACT Policing received reports of a commercial theft in Belconnen. Investigations led officers to identify a 20-year-old Evatt woman who was believed to be involved in the matter.
During the search warrant, police seized a significant quantity of beauty products and other items believed to have been stolen.
The woman was charged with possessing a prohibited weapon, minor theft and breaching her bail conditions.
Detective Sergeant Heath Langlands from Belconnen Station said that recovered goods are often hard to return to owners and businesses without identification or proof of ownership.
“Portable and attractive items should, where possible, be photographed and labelled to assist police in returning items to owners once located,” Detective Sergeant Langlands said.
“While it may be time consuming to itemise your tools, sports equipment or electronics, it goes a long way in us getting them back to you.
“Tradies are encouraged to engrave their company name, their mobile number or their licence number on tools.
“Jewellery, electronic items and sporting goods can be photographed and serial numbers recorded.
“You can never be too careful when it comes to your personal belongings.”
