Sun’s out, pink buns out

There has never been a better excuse to buy one of Bakers Delight’s iconic Pink Buns (or a six pack) than from today until 28 October.

During that time, Bakers Delight will celebrate its 20th year supporting the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) and donate 100% of profits from Pink Bun purchases to the cause.

Usually run in May but postponed this year because of COVID-19, the 20-year partnership has seen an amazing $20 million raised for BCNA over that time.

This year’s campaign focuses not only on those diagnosed with breast cancer but will also celebrate those who have supported them throughout their journey.

You can meet this year’s five ambassadors, who have bravely shared their story to raise awareness about breast cancer, and their friends and families online.

In Australia, 55 people are diagnosed with breast cancer each day, with an Australian Institute of Health and Welfare report showing it as the most commonly diagnosed cancer in 2020.

The risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer increases with age, standing at one in seven women by the age of 85.

The 20-day campaign will be taken up by all 383 Bakers Delight franchises nationally, all looking to ‘bake’ a difference.

In order to get involved, customers can purchase a Pink Bun, buy a pink lady silhouette for a gold coin and write a message of support or make a donation over the counter.

Other ways to get involved include hosting a Pink Bun Party fundraiser, or buying a virtual 6-Pack of Pink Buns (new in 2020) and include a message of support.

The Pink Bun campaign asks Australians to show their support to the cause and ensure no one affected goes through a breast cancer diagnosis alone.

BCNA has a network of over 120,000 people and reaches over 70% of Australians diagnosed with breast cancer.
