Anti-Poverty Weeks, held this year from 15 to 27 October, help the Australian community to better understand poverty and collectively end it.

The community sector urged the Federal and ACT Governments to act this Anti-Poverty Week. Here is their response.

To mark Anti-Poverty Week, 16-22 October, the community sector has published a grim snapshot of poverty and inequality in the ACT.

With at least 9,000 children living in poverty in the ACT, the ACT Council of Social Service (ACTCOSS) is urging the Territory and Federal governments to raise income support to at least $70 per day and to halve child poverty by 2030.
