Now that Matilda mania has subsided a little, it’s time to acknowledge Canberra’s (and Australia’s) new world champion – 23-year-old Jamie Gumbrell, who won the Golf Croquet Women’s World Championship in England earlier this month.

The restored Canberra Croquet Club clubhouse officially opened today. One of the oldest facilities in the ACT, the club needed an upgrade.

The heritage-listed Canberra Croquet Club has received a $410,000 Sport and Recreation Grant from the ACT Government to extend its clubhouse.
