The latest Census data reveals 387 children were sleeping rough on Census night in 2021, as the overall number of people experiencing homelessness surged by five per cent.
With at least 9,000 children living in poverty in the ACT, the ACT Council of Social Service (ACTCOSS) is urging the Territory and Federal governments to raise income support to at least $70 per day and to halve child poverty by 2030.
