A group of local volunteers joined forces with ACT Parks in Namadgi National Park over the weekend, working to help restore the land following the Orroral Valley bushfires last summer.
Canberra based volunteers of the Kosciuszko Huts Association (KHA) are concerned history “will slip through our fingers” because of the inability to rebuild historic huts destroyed in the 2020 Orroral Valley Bushfires.
Parts of Namadgi National Park are now welcoming visitors once again, following the devastating Orroral Valley bushfires which burnt more than 80% of the area.
26 newly employed Canberrans will aid bushfire recovery with the ACT Parks and Conservation Service with the ACT Government’s Jobs for Canberrans fund.
