The flood crisis in northern New South Wales has left lives shattered. Those worst affected are dazed and struggling to comprehend the loss of life, homes, livelihoods and possessions.
Eighteen ACT State Emergency Service personnel have been deployed by the ACT Emergency Services Agency today to assist in storm and flood recovery efforts across NSW.
More than 40,000 people in NSW are under evacuation orders and others are being warned not to travel while the coast is battered by heavy rain and flooding.
Around half-a-million people in NSW are now subject to an evacuation order or warning as the epicentre of the flood crisis moves south with Sydney, the Hunter and the Central Coast to be battered with intense rain.
