Tapine and Scott out as Young returns for Raiders

The Canberra Raiders will be without Joe Tapine and Curtis Scott for their round four clash against the Gold Coast Titans at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in Kogarah on Saturday 3 April at 7.45pm.

Tapine left the field with an ankle injury in the Raiders loss against the Warriors while Scott bravely played out the match despite picking up a rib injury early on. Both players are expected back within 1-2 weeks.

Ryan James and Sebastian Kris have been named despite being concussed in a sickening head clash last week. They will continue to undergo NRL concussion protocols in order to play. James has been named on the bench while Kris will replace Scott in the centres after starting in the second row last round.

Hudson Young was a late withdrawal in round three but has been named to return in the second row where he starred in the opening two rounds. Dunamis Lui also returns to the starting side after playing NSW Cup last weekend while Josh Papalii and Ryan Sutton will start in the middle despite playing big minutes against the Warriors.

Tom Starling retains his spot on the bench after playing NSW Cup in the first two rounds. He is joined by James, Siliva Havili and Sia Soliola on the bench.

Sam Williams, Semi Valemei, Caleb Aekins and Emre Guler are the reserves. The drink driving pair of Corey Horsburgh and Corey Harawira-Naera remain on the outer and have been left out of the squad entirely. They have both been named in the Raiders NSW Cup team to face the Newtown Jets at Raiders Belconnen this Saturday at 4pm.

The match was initially scheduled to be played at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast but has been moved to Kogarah due to the COVID outbreak in Queensland.
