Tasmania will open its borders to ACT residents from Monday 26 October.
Tasmanian Premier Peter Gutwein made the announcement this afternoon that the state would open its borders to “low risk” states – the ACT, Queensland, South Australia and the Northern Territory – from Monday 26 October, with NSW to be considered over the next week.
The news comes after direct flights between Canberra and Hobart were announced earlier this week, set to start on 1 December.
Link Airways, the carrier operating the flights between Canberra and Hobart, is expected to bring forward the scheduled commencement date of the flights following today’s announcements.
