Two youths will face the ACT Children’s Court today, charged with aggravated robbery and other offences.
Police allege the 16-year-old and 17-year-old boys entered a residence in Kambah on Tuesday, threatened the homeowner with knives, and stole drugs, money, and other items. Â
Later that same day, the 17-year-old boy allegedly threatened another person over the phone in relation to the earlier home invasion.
Officers from ACT Policing’s Operation TORIC arrested the two boys at a residence in Chisholm on Thursday afternoon. Â
Both boys have been charged with jointly committing aggravated robbery, and possessing an offensive weapon with intent. The 17-year-old boy has also been charged with threats via a carriage service, and breaching a good behaviour order.
In a separate incident, officers attached to Operation TORIC executed yesterday a search warrant at a residence in Ainslie following an investigation into a stolen vehicle from August 2023. Â
Police located two stolen motor vehicles, two hand-held tasers, knuckle dusters, OC (pepper) spray, and two gas-powered firearm-shaped arrow air javelins.
Investigations into this incident are ongoing, and charges are expected to be laid at a later date.
