The Night Noodle Markets set to return

Canberra’s iconic summer food event, the Night Noodle Markets, is officially going ahead in 2022, albeit separately from the Enlighten Festival.

The Canberra Night Noodle Markets will take place from Friday 25 February to Sunday 6 March.

Over 10 nights, the Night Noodle Markets’ new location at Parkes Place West Lawns is to be transformed into a lively festival celebrating Asian street food, with the hawker-style stalls that Canberrans have missed since March 2020.

Local businesses that you can support at the Night Noodle Markets include Korean BBQ king, Korbq, Raijin, and Donburi Station.

Next to them in the delicious line-up are Gelato Messina, Wonderbao, Hoy Pinoy, Teppanyaki Noodles, Flying Noodles, Twissto, and May’s Malaysian Hawker.

Pop-ups from partner brands will be bringing the liquid spirit, like Dan Murphy’s Zero% Bar, Aperol Spritz Kombi Bar, and Gage Road’s Beer Garden.

Don’t feel guilty about treating yourself to the fairy floss, popcorn, and coffee at the Accor Hotels stall, as all proceeds will be going to charity.

This year, the markets purport “less time queuing and more time eating” through their partnership with Mr Yum.

Diners will have the option to scan a QR code to view, order and pay for items on their phones through Mr Yum (a web-based online menu) with an SMS sent when orders are ready.

Be sure to catch the vibrant live entertainment – dragon dancers gliding between the stalls. Just be sure to keep them away from the pets, who are also welcome.

Entry to the Night Noodle Markets will remain free; however, guests must register for a free ticket online at nightnoodlemarkets.com.au

Enlighten will continue to be run separately by the ACT Government, from 4 March to 20 March.
