Three teens have been arrested following a house burglary in Dunlop and subsequent vehicle thefts. Â
In the early hours of Sunday 18 December, a home in Dunlop was broken into and a handbag and car keys were stolen. Soon after a Jeep Cherokee and an Audi Q5 were taken from the residence. Â
Police were called and an investigation commenced – with the Jeep Cherokee recovered soon after at another location in Dunlop.
It was soon identified that credit cards stolen earlier in the morning had been used at nearby convenience stores. CCTV was reviewed and three persons of interest were identified.
About 2.30pm police located the stolen Audi in Charnwood and soon after apprehended two 15-year-old boys and a 13-year-old boy.
The 13-year-old was charged with aggravated burglary, two counts of obtaining property by deception, possession of stolen property and driving a motor vehicle without consent. He was granted bail yesterday from the ACT Childrens Court and will re-appear in January.
Investigations are continuing and further charges are expected to be laid against the other two teens.
