A newly transformed Regatta Point function centre means Canberrans will soon be able to enjoy a café or dining experience on the edge of Lake Burley Griffin.
Assistant Minster for Regional Development and Territories, Nola Marino, announced the awarding of the Hospitality Services Licence today to Grand Pacific Group (GPG).
“The announcement today of GPG, a creative, leading hospitality company, partnering with the National Capital Authority will see the space at Regatta Point transform into a fabulous, sophisticated and accessible restaurant, café and function space,” said Ms Marino.
Manuel Spinola, Director of GPG, has advised that there will be three key offers available to cater for visitors and locals to the precinct. Included will be a café offering fresh, healthy and convenient options seven days a week, and a restaurant offering lunch and high tea made with local produce. There will also be a function offering, available seven days a week for “events beyond comparison”.
Senator for the ACT, Zed Seselja, shared his enthusiasm for the new facility.
“I have long been a supporter of creating more opportunities to enjoy the beauty of Lake Burley Griffin for Canberrans and visitors to our great city alike,” Senator Seselja said.
“A new café and restaurant will be an extremely welcome addition that will add vibrancy to the lake front.”
It is expected these hospitality services will begin from November.
