Two new COVID-19 cases at Batemans Bay

ACT Health is keeping a close eye on the unfolding COVID-19 situation at Batemans Bay, with two new cases reported by NSW Health today both contacts of a previously reported case from the Batemans Bay Soldiers’ Club.

If any ACT residents are contacted by NSW Health in relation to these cases, they are asked to contact ACT Health through the COVID helpline on 6207 7244 to inform them.

The new cases bring the total associated with the Soldiers’ Club to 10.

One of the two COVID-19 cases is a student at Batemans Bay High School. The other attends Batemans Bay Public School. The schools are closed today for cleaning, and contact tracing is under way.

There have been no new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the ACT in the past 24 hours, leaving the ACT’s case total since the pandemic was declared at 113. There are no active cases in the ACT and the death toll remains at three.

A total of 110 cases have recovered from COVID-19 in the ACT. There are no COVID-19 patients in Canberra hospitals.

The number of negative tests in the ACT is now 60,395.

Twenty-two new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in NSW in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.

Currently there are 289 active cases in NSW.

Canberrans are advised to keep up to date with the latest affected areas in NSW by visiting NSW Health.

Always follow the guidance on both the ACT COVID-19 website and the COVID-19 website of the state you are travelling to, and remember that while travelling, it is your responsibility to maintain physical distancing and practise good hygiene, as well as to adhere to the rules of the jurisdiction you are travelling to.
