Victorian driver faces ACT court – alcohol levels 4 times legal limit

A Victorian man faces the ACT Magistrates Court this morning after being caught drink driving last night in Fyshwick, with alcohol readings almost four times the legal limit.

About 10.25pm, police observed a grey Subaru Forester turning away from their random breath testing site on Canberra Avenue, Fyshwick. A short time later, police stopped the driver, a 55-year-old man from Brunswick East.

Police tested the man’s breath by the roadside, and he returned positive readings for alcohol. He was transported to City Police Station, where he returned a breath analysis of 0.195 grams of alcohol per 210 L of breath – almost four times the legal limit.

The man’s right to drive in the ACT was immediately suspended for 90 days, and he was charged with driving a motor vehicle with alcohol in breath.
