Violent woman charged after allegedly stabbing ex partner and assaulting officers

A 29-year-old woman will face court today after allegedly stabbing her former partner during an altercation last night and assaulting several police officers.

About 10:30pm, Friday 13 September, police and emergency services responded to reports a man had been stabbed following an altercation in Page.

Officers and ACT Ambulance Service paramedics attended the scene and spoke to the victim.

Police allege the woman got into an argument with her former partner after returning to the residence she shared with him.

During the argument, she threatened to kill him, struck him in the face several times, and damaged his property.

The man attempted to leave the residence but was stopped in the backyard by the woman, who then stabbed him in the arm and chest.

The 29-year-old woman was arrested, and the man was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Further, police will allege while the woman was in custody, she slapped a Protective Service Officer in the face and dragged her by the hair, striking her repeatedly. After other officers intervened, she struck them several times as well.

She has been charged with three counts of assaulting a frontline worker, and one count each of contravening a family violence order, assault, recklessly threatening to kill a person, damaging property, and intentionally wounding.
