Virtual tours take you inside celebrity homes

For those keen to catch a glimpse into the homes of some of Australia’s familiar faces, IKEA Australia is launching an open home weekend providing viewers with virtual tours of celebrities’ houses.

On Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May, the virtual open home weekend will feature nine homes across the country including those of Shelley Craft, Osher Günsberg, and Angie Kent. The tours will provide a behind-the-scenes look at their lives at home.

IKEA Australia recently worked with television personality Angie Kent to turn her bedroom space into a restful sanctuary. The room will feature as part of IKEA’s virtual open home weekend on 16-17 May. Photo: IKEA Australia.

“I’m excited to invite Australians into my home and share what my space means to me and how I live my everyday life. Everyone’s home has a different and special meaning and I can’t wait to share some of my favourite things about mine,” television personality Angie Kent said.

There will also be a local flavour to the event with Canberrans Richard and Jen set to feature. They were one of the recipients of the IKEA + you campaign, where interior designers provided Aussies with their dream bedroom.

For Jen and Richard, they were in need of a bedroom transformation to declutter and organise their belongings. The key decluttering tip was to sort clothes into ‘wearing now’, ‘seasonal’ and ‘donate’ piles. They now have a calm, organised bedroom space and a comfortable sleep environment for all seasons.

Australians will have the opportunity to tune into IKEA Australia social channels and watch virtual tours of Australian homes. Following the home tours, some homeowners will open to an audience Q&A where Australians can engage in and ask their questions.

“Through the virtual open home weekend, we hope to provide Australians with much needed engaging content they can tune into whilst indoors, and perhaps ignite inspiration and solutions for their own home too,” Christine Gough, country home furnishing and retail design manager for IKEA Australia said.
