After her successful return from retirement last summer, W-League record goalscorer Michelle Heyman will play for Canberra United in their 2021-22 campaign.
Heyman scored 10 goals last season having previously called time on her career in 2019, going on to reclaim her W-League scoring record from Sam Kerr in the process.
Heyman now has 73 W-League goals in her career, with Kerr next best on 70.
Her three goals against Adelaide on December 30 also means she has four career W-League hat-tricks, the same career tally as Kerr.
The former Matilda’s form helped Canberra end a three-season finals drought and led to her winning the Julie Dolan Medal as the league’s best player.
“I absolutely loved everything about last season and can’t wait to be back training and playing with the girls,” the 33-year-old said.
“I’m just so happy and grateful for another opportunity to represent Canberra, play in front of our amazing fans and push for another finals appearance.”
In other W-League news, Melbourne City have announced the signing of New Zealand international Hannah Wilkinson as the former powerhouse plots a return to the finals.
