Country Road re-opens
Country Road’s Canberra Centre store has re-opened after an extensive revamp, and the new-look store boasts a series of ‘green’ credentials that are easy on the eye as well as the environment. The environmentally conscious fit-out now includes fixtures and tables made from recycled yoghurt containers, carpet made from fishing nets, and wall cladding crafted from recycled paper – all in that signature Country Road style. The renovation took six months to complete, and the fresh-faced store’s environmentally friendly fixtures and fittings are evident down to the very last details, including: parquetry flooring reclaimed from old buildings; hooks in the fitting rooms made from ocean plastics; kids’ seating made from plastic toys; recycled polyester turned into fitting room curtains; and wool wall hangings that have been salvaged from leftover yarn. The new-look store is accompanied by the brand’s latest range that showcases sustainable and ethical materials.
Uniqlo x Marimekko
Here’s something to look forward to after winter! Uniqlo has announced their latest collaboration with Finnish design house Marimekko: a capsule collection for spring/summer 2020. An “ode to Finnish summer living”, the collection will include Marimekko’s signature bright, bold prints and colours, in a nod to “celebrating the end of long winters and the joys of summer times with friends and family”.
The limited-edition collection will launch on Thursday 6 August, and will be available in Uniqlo stores and online via uniqlo.com/au
Morphe launches ‘Morphe 2’
Cosmetics juggernaut Morphe has announced the launch of a new sub-brand that will focus on light, multipurpose makeup that is “simple yet stunning”. ‘Morphe 2’ looks to be catering to the Gen Z demographic with the new products, bringing on TikTok superstars Charli and Dixie D’amelio as ambassadors and the faces of the new sub-brand. Morphe 2’s products will include a hydrating tint available in 20 shades, lip oils, face and eye gloss and eye shimmers.
