With things pretty well back in full swing and Canberra’s “new normal” feeling more and more familiar, here’s CW‘s guide to what’s on this weekend across 26, 27 and 28 February.
Tonight, Enlighten Canberra kicks off, running this year for 17 days across the ACT, from 26 February to 14 March, with registration required to attend several of the events.
The National Portrait Gallery, the National Library, the National Gallery, Parliament House, Old Parliament House and Questacon will all be illuminated as part of the festival’s 11th year, and a number of Canberra’s major attractions will also open their doors for ticketed, ‘after-dark’ events.
The popular Enlighten Illuminations won’t require registration, but attendees are encouraged to check-in via the Check In CBR app.

If you’re more of a rev-head, get along to the Queanbeyan Showground on Sunday from 10am to 1.30pm for Shannons Wheels 2021.
Organised by the Canberra Antique and Classic Motor Club on behalf of the Council of ACT Motor Clubs, the event now in its 45 year raises money for local charities.
The event will see more than 600 vehicles including antique cars, commercials, motor bikes, and more on display. Entry is by gold coin donation.
