What’s on in Canberra this weekend, 8-10 November

Running from 1-10 November with the theme regenerate, the Craft and Design Canberra Festival will wrap up soon. There is an array of arts and crafts events to choose from, with some being hands-on for attendees across various venues around the city.

The 40th anniversary of Ausdance ACT’s Youth Dance Festival is also being held at the Canberra Theatre Centre from November 6-8, with the theme of What Do You Dream?

Griffith-based M16 Artspace is running an open day as part of the 2024 Craft and Design Canberra Festival on 9 November

Club Cohen: For one night only, The Vault transforms into a nightclub of the afterlife. Once again nothing has been wasted at Canberra Spinners and Weavers. They’ve been reimagining, repurposing, and retrofitting all kinds of traditional, and non-traditional materials and items into garments, accessories, floor rugs, tea cosies, toys etc. There’s an exhibition, silent auction, salesroom and demonstration of traditional fibre arts and crafts. Stages of Empathy: Rebus Theatre is launching Stages of Empathy, a groundbreaking project focused on creating accessible and inclusive workplace training for organisations working with diverse communities across Australia. They want to hear from community members to help shape the project. The sessions will be followed by Playback Theatre performances reflecting these themes.
