Which Canberra suburbs had biggest rent rises?

Holt in Belconnen and Pearce in the Woden Valley are the two top ACT suburbs with the biggest increase in weekly asking rents in the past 12 months, according to the Domain Rent Report March 2023 Quarter released today.

The median weekly asking rent for a house in Pearce increased 15.4 per cent over the past year to $750, while the median rent for a unit in Holt increased 15.6 per cent to $520 per week.

Similarly, median unit rents increased in O’Connor by 15.2 per cent to $550 per week, in Mawson by 14.9 per cent to $500, and in Narrabundah by 14.3 per cent to $600.

Top ACT suburbs with improved rent affordability

Meanwhile, renting a house became more affordable in Throsby, where the median weekly rent dropped 6.7 per cent to $760, and in Denman Prospect, which experienced a 6.0 per cent decrease to $740.

Average weekly house rents also fell in Duffy, down 5.1 per cent to $645; Isaacs, down 3.8 per cent to $750; and Farrer, down 3.4 per cent to $720.
